An EvaDress 'Advents-Kalendar' of RED! Day 9

Alexandra Reynolds 1930s bias cut-outs dress EvaDress Patterns evening evening gown formal frock Kimono luxe Pattern Tour

In a sort of Advents-Kalendar way, I will post 'red' for each day of December through Christmas and link the image as closely as possible to EvaDress Patterns (in pattern tour form)!
Here is the ninth, a deep red 1930's velvet evening gown with cut away sleeve. This photo per eBay (sale no longer posted):

Sew the look with our 1933 Pattern originally by Excella:
1933 Evening Gown with Cut-Away Sleeve Pattern

Originally by Excella, 'This formal gown is cut (in kimono style) with smart dolman sleeves cut in one with the blouse is very easy to make. The back is slashed and closed to the neck and the sleeves may be opened from shoulder to elbow. Markings on the pattern provide for short sleeves and a V-neck.'

This pattern is for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and lightly illustrated; they are not depicted in a step-by-step manner.

The pattern art does not well depict the cut-away sleeve, but this example made by one of our customers from this pattern certainly demonstrates that amazing detail!

Another customer fashioned a knock-out wedding gown from this pattern:
