Pattern Tour E30-744, 1930's Dinner Gown & Cape

This 5-piece pattern is for the dinner gown with incorporated cape via buttonhole at the front of the bust. Strongly resembles the velvet gown Cate Blanchett wears in the latest Noir film, Nightmare Alley! Fullness is provided for the bust with double darts and cinching at the center front where the cape threads through.  A line of elastic is sewn into the upper edge of the un-structured bodice back to hold it in place.  The cape may be worn on or off the shoulders and a godet adds fullness to the otherwise close-fitting bias skirt. Suggested fabrics for this design are:...

Pattern Tour D30-6529, 1930's House, Beach or Sports Dress

10-piece hand-drafted pattern originally from Pictorial Review, 'Sleeveless and backless, except for bands that cross in back, this is easy to make. Shoulder ruffles are optional. This model is in wrap-around style and fastens on the right side with a button and on the left side with tie-strings.’  This pattern was originally marketed as a Sports Dress, but I see it well fit as a house or beach dress. Love those strap flounces! RECOMMENDED FABRICS: Satin, Rough silk crepe, moire, metal fabrics, velvet, lace, rayon, celanese or bemberg.   Sizes: Size set A fits 14-20 (32" to 38" bust, 26" to 32"...
