Pattern Tour E30-744, 1930's Dinner Gown & Cape
This 5-piece pattern is for the dinner gown with incorporated cape via buttonhole at the front of the bust. Strongly resembles the velvet gown Cate Blanchett wears in the latest Noir film, Nightmare Alley!

Fullness is provided for the bust with double darts and cinching at the center front where the cape threads through.  A line of elastic is sewn into the upper edge of the un-structured bodice back to hold it in place.  The cape may be worn on or off the shoulders and a godet adds fullness to the otherwise close-fitting bias skirt.

Suggested fabrics for this design are: Silk charmeuse, double-sided silk satin, 4-ply crepe, georgette, rayon, lame, velvet or wool crepe.

This pattern is for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and lightly illustrated. They are not depicted in a step-by-step manner.

3/8" seams are given.
