Pattern Tour E50-1026, 1951 Evening Gown

Alexandra Reynolds 1950's EvaDress Patterns evening evening gown Pattern Tour

I am reviving my 'Pattern Tours', a department of my blog series I started 5 years ago in which I highlight each pattern, delving into its delicious details and giving any heads-up or pointers when sewing it!

The owner of Silk Poppy made this and a few of her other patterns available through me (in the collections they are noted as such).  When she closed her business in 2004, she wished her patterns to remain available.
1951 Modes Royale Evening Gown

16-piece digitally-drafted pattern originally by Modes Royale, 'A dramatic, strapless gown with a fabulously-draped tunic over-skirt'.

The long, boned bodice joins to skirt at high hip with upper and lower trim pieces for accent.  The tunic over-skirt is self-faced, or you may even want to face it in contrast!
5/8" seams are given at all underarm (side) seams and 1/2" seams are given on all other edges.

Sizes:
Size set A fitting 12-20 (30" to 38" bust, 25-1/2" to 32" waist, 33" to 41" hip).

Size set B fitting 40-46 (40" to 46" bust, 34" to 40" waist, 43" to 49" hip).

Wear this gown with our long gloves pattern Acc50-8371.

Order this pattern through Tuesday, September 14, 2021 and get 15% off the pattern price!
