1930 Dress, Slip, Coat & Hat SE30-3891
SE30-3891; 1930 Dress, Slip, Coat and Hat
15-piece pattern for the dress with optional slip, open coat and Newport-style hat.
The coat (3-piece pattern) may be ordered as a separate. The dress skirt may be accordion-pleated and comes with flounced slip (8-piece pattern) sold as a set, see options below.
I designed this pattern based on the color rendering originally sketched by a pattern company artist at a runway show in 1930. The caption written on the original reads:
'Seen at the fashion show. Coarse black net. Black taffeta bands.'
NOTE: The dress, slip and coat are very close fitting at the hip (1" ease). As I recommend with all of my patterns, ensure proper fit with a toile before cutting fashion fabric!
This pattern is for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and lightly illustrated, they are not depicted in a step-by-step manner.
3/8" seams are given.
Other recommended fabrics: Heavy crepe, heavy satin and 4-ply georgette, the slip may be made in charmeuse, light crepe or satin.

Size set A fits 14-20 (32" to 38" bust, 26" to 32" waist, 35" to 41" hip).
